Orange Bank Africa (OBA), the vehicle launched by Orange Group to deploy mobile banking in Africa, is getting its first accounts and the first data are very interesting. 5 months after its launch on its first market, Cote d'Ivoire, OBA already claims 350,000 customers at the end of 2020, according to data collected from the group.

Relying on Orange Cote d'Ivoire's mobile Money account portfolio with nearly 10 million customers, OBA is thus gradually succeeding in attracting a target clientele of 4 million active Orange money customers.

In an interview given to SIKA Finance in July 2020 on the sidelines of the launch in Abidjan, Jean-Louis MENANN-KOUAME, the managing director, emphasized that OBA intends to deploy in Senegal in the 3rd quarter, then in Burkina and Mali in the last quarter of 2021.

The digital bank that boasts of offering credits from 5,000 FCFA in 10 seconds is a capital alloy between Orange and NSIA Bank.
